Tumaini Home and home based care
Tumaini Miles of Smiles Centre provides children with the opportunity to quality education, more so to the disadvantaged. We give them an opportunity to complete high school and join universities.
Lurale Hill Vocational School
Lurale polytechnic was established with the aim to give a second chance to the youth. We rescue the youth from engaging in drug and substance abuse, and other related vices through the Centre by offering training in practical skills. Many of the youths whom we support are orphaned at an early age while others come from very poor families. These factors deny them an opportunity to join High School. Lurale Vocational School program has opened and continue to open opportunities to the youth for employment and self-employment.
Women and cow Project
Margaret Thatcher said that “if you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman.” In the same spirit Diane Mariechild said, “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform”. In Malava, women work hard in a difficult environment to educate their children. Most of their children don’t go beyond primary school. TMSC has identified a cow project. The project empower women educate their children. The project is a practical solution providing nutrition to the malnourished and providing income through sale of at least 3 liters of the milk daily. The income from the sale of milk supplements other house hold needs and provide savings for high school fees of their children.
We periodically carryout feeding programs as a short-term and emergency program to give hope to families. We carry out the program during the severely drought stricken periods.
